China offers 11 fully funded scholarships specifically for international students who aspire to pursue higher education in China. These scholarships cover a range of study fields, making sure that there is an opportunity for every candidate.
To be eligible, Non Chinese students who are in good health may apply for these scholarships, although the exact eligibility criteria may differ based on the scholarship.

MOFCOM Scholarship
The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China established the MOFCOM Scholarship with the goal of fostering communication and collaboration between China and other nations and nurturing talented individuals from developing countries. Since 2015, the scholarship has prioritized supporting young and middle-aged students from recipient countries in pursuing postgraduate degrees in China. The administration of the scholarship is overseen by the China Scholarship Council on behalf of MOFCOM.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship of a developing country other than the People’s Republic of China
- Age under 45 years (born after September 1, 1974)
- Good physical and mental health confirmed by a medical examination report from a local public hospital, and free from any listed diseases or conditions
- Minimum of three years of work experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree if applying for a master’s program, and a master’s degree if applying for a doctoral program
- Proficiency in English language that meets the academic requirements of the program, equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, or a TOEFL score of 80 or above.
Selected students will receive exemption from tuition, teaching material, research and survey, allowance for English-taught programs, and dissertation guidance fees. Additionally, students will receive a monthly stipend, one-off resettlement fee, medical insurance for international students, and international airfare.

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship
Annually, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation offers a scholarship program aimed at fulfilling the growing demand for Chinese language educators and supporting the advancement of Chinese language education worldwide.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements: Non Chinese citizenship, aged 16 to 35, in good physical and mental condition, above-average academic records, and a strong dedication to Chinese language education.
Successful applicants will receive complete coverage of tuition fees, accommodation fees, a living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance. The living allowance amount will differ based on the scholarship type awarded.
