AirCar Trends and comments
Boeing Co.’s Dr. Branko Sarh “Professor Stefan Klein is the world leader in the creation of user-friendly Flying Cars,” said Senior Technical Fellow.
The automatic transition from a road vehicle to an air vehicle, including deploying/retracting wings and tail, is the result of superb engineering and expert understanding, not merely of pioneering passion, innovative spirit, and courage.”
“This flight ushers in a new era of dual mobility vehicles,” said Anton Zajac, co-founder of Klein Vision.
It establishes a new mode of mobility and returns to the individual the freedom hitherto accorded to automobiles.” Professor Klein said as he stepped out of the AirCar cockpit in Bratislava.
“AirCar is no longer just a proof of concept; flying at 8,200ft at a speed of 100kt, it has turned science fiction into a reality.”
Why recent interest in flying cars?
Technology in the automotive and aviation industries is progressively combining.
Flying vehicles, unlike standard automobiles and planes, are very adaptable and may be used as a form of transportation both on land and in the air.
According to a report, flying cars have been favoured by notable investors due to their broad application prospects.
Larry Page, the co-founder and CEO of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, was one of the first to see their potential, personally investing in three startups: Zee Aero, Opener, and Kitty Hawk.
It’s no surprise that Sebastian Thrun, the founder of Google’s self-driving team, has moved on to become the CEO of Kitty Hawk, a flying vehicle business.
Uber has also stated that it intends to introduce an air taxi in the near future.
Several firms, including Toyota Motors, Boeing, and Airbus, have invested in and are working on flying automobile projects.
This reflects the mobility market’s current trend and suggests that future transportation may take place in the skies.
Reasons why flying cars matter
Land transportation is the most common kind of transport. This mode of transportation has some drawbacks, such as traffic congestion, particularly in urban areas, and inadequate road upkeep, to name a few.
However, the introduction of flying cars will result in speedier transit, less traffic congestion, and fewer emissions, as most flying cars use power batteries.
BMW-Powered AirCar Features
It uses conventional gasoline and can convert from a car to an airplane in a matter of minutes.
Although flying cars aren’t exactly a novel concept, just a few of them take to the air or at least test their prototypes in public.
The AirCar was successfully launched on its first inter-city flight by Klein Vision. The AirCar has gotten closer to its production version after achieving a critical development milestone.
